New era for Blackpool Cricket Club

Those of you that have been attending BHF for many years are in for a real treat this year as Blackpool Cricket Club are pleased to announce that Phase One of the winter refurbishments has been completed.

Work to renovate the main lounge bar took place in February and there will be further work being carried out in the run up to Easter that includes the relocation of ladies toilets, interior extension of main lounge room, audio visual improvements, car park renovation and score box restoration.

The Festival will also be making changes to the layout of the site this year. The score centre, SilverFX merchandise shop and also the umpires room will be making the move to the Cricket Club, creating a hub of activity and in turn creating a better Festival atmosphere for all involved.

David Creswell – (Chariman – Blackpool Cricket Club)

“After years of papering over cracks, Blackpool Cricket Club is finally moving into the modern ages! The new bar is fantastic, and there is something on tap for all tastes. Externally, the car park and score box have had a major overhaul which will be a pleasant sight to visitors. I can’t wait for the Festival to hit as it will be the first major event since the refurbishments, and lets hope the hockey on the field matches the facilities off it.”

George Robson – (President and Chairman – BHF)

“The Festival’s partnership with the Cricket Club began in 1969 and there are many hockey aficionados who have affection for the Cricket Club – both the place and its members. Believe me, Festival 2014 is going to be something really special and it is ‘the icing on the cake’ to know we are to be treated to such first class facilities at what we call ‘our home’. We offer the sincerest of congratulations to Blackpool Cricket Club. May our partnership and the friendships within it continue to blossom.”
