Umpires

Come and umpire with us!

Are you a qualified umpire or is your local club coming to the festival? Then why not join in the fun and umpire?

We would like to extend an invitation for umpires to officiate in our 68th Festival in Blackpool over Easter weekend 2019. Umpires play a key part of the Festival, and we do our upmost to look after them. Umpires have an open invitation, to all the social events to party along side all the players. There are even dedicated Umpire social events taking place all weekend.

Format

The Festival is a Mixed Tournament with four/five games of hockey per day over the first three days and one/two on Easter Monday, with each team playing approximately fifteen matches in total.

Games are 15 minutes one way over the first three days, with 25 minute play-offs on Monday at Stanley Park, with games being centrally timed.

The playing facilities comprise one 11 a-side grass pitch and two 7 a-side sand-dressed artificial pitches in Stanley Park.

We will be able to pay you expenses of about £25 per day, depending on our finances, plus you will receive a FREE official Blackpool Easter Hockey Festival umpiring shirt, programme, lanyard and perhaps more depending on sponsorship.
